6. Nine and a half weeks
Erotic melodrama directed by Adrian Lyne, the adaptation of the novel by Elizabeth McNeil. The film was released on the day of all lovers, in 1986. This is a love story that happens in New York, between John Gray – an investor who works for Wall Street and Elizabeth McGraw – an employee of the gallery. The couple practices various erotic and sexual acts: John carries ice through the body of Elizabeth, blindfolding her before; Elizabeth closes her eyes, John feeds spoons with sweets; they have sex on the stairs. Many have seen the famous episode – striptease Elizabeth, under the song “You Can Leave Your Hat On”, in the performance of the unrivaled Joe Cocker. The picture abounds with metaphors and symbolism. For example, a fish that was caught and eaten – a symbol of the emotional state of Elizabeth, which is used throughout the film. John’s whole picture is trying to push the framework of Elizabeth’s perception, directing her to an emotional breakdown, which leads to the emancipation of the girl. A very emotional film that will make you think.

7. Bullet
Bullet – the film directed by Mickey Rourke, 1995. The main character – Butch Stein, has the nickname “Bullet”, comes out after the term, for an offense that is not perfect for him. Immediately, at the exit, he is met, his friend Lester and younger brother Ruby. After the prison, he can start his life with a white sheet, but the time spent in prison and drug addiction does not allow him to do it. Also, Butch’s criminal past does not give him rest – he is looking for Tank, the criminal authority to get even with him for his loss of eyes. Everything happens against the backdrop of a complex relationship with the family. Lewis is an older brother, a crazy former soldier, Ruby is a talented artist who paints homes and a spinning father who thinks Butch is a loser. The tragic denouement of the film, a classic for such films, amazes with its entertainment. In the film also starred, popular rap singer Tupac Shakur.

A feature film shot according to the script, is Charles Bukowski himself, a writer who is now known by almost everyone. The main character of the film Henry – a spy writer, talented, but so lost faith in the good, that he lives in a bar and earns himself a glass, participating in battles without rules. But, one evening he notices a pretty stranger near the bar and they have a romance. Henry shows her some of her works and the girl is sure that the world should see them. Seeing the true appearance of Henry, she tries to help him, but he refuses and returns to his old, kind bar. Nevertheless, the novels written by Henry are published. This film was highly appreciated by film critics. Interesting facts: to get better into the role, Mickey knocked out two front teeth, and Charles Bukowski played in the movie Cameo.

9. Aerobatics
Methamphetamine, meth is one of the most common drugs in the world. Thousands of people use it – from naive youth to old billionaires. Sniffing, sticking or skuriving crystals, feelings of unlimited power and power are transmitted, but for all in time, you have to pay. This is what the film “Aerobatics” tells about. A student who dropped out of school, from his familiar drug dealer Mike “Spider”, gets acquainted with the producer of methamphetamine Cook and his girlfriend – stripper Nikki. The picture shows only three days, and for these three days, our hero travels not only along the coast in his car in the waves of buzz but also in time not realizing what was just a minute ago. Will he end his journey? The end of the film amazes, even the most cynical spectators. If you have not watched yet, we strongly advise you to start watching immediately.

10. War of the Gods: Immortals
The picture is based on the motif of the ancient Greek myth of the Minotaur, Theseus, and Titanomachia. The film went to hire in 2011, the premiere of the film was held in the US. The plot of the film, if briefly, about the intervention of the gods in the fate of people, and about the decision of a man to build his own way. When the picture was filmed, it was decided to hide all the moments of its creation from the public, although experts consider this a modern blockbuster of the epic scale. The director insisted that he would remove the visual masterpiece – a militant, which will be in the style of Renaissance paintings. He claimed that he wanted to show the fusion of modern and ancient, take ancient Greek history and modernize it. And as it turned out, I did not lie. Critics of the film received mixed assessments, but the public appreciated the picture.
