The creator of the legendary band was Jimmy Page, who worked as a session guitarist, but he got tired of it and decided to start his own band. Soon John Paul Jones (bass guitar), Robert Plant (vocals) and John Bonham (drums) joined him. The group was named New Yardbirds. But soon, they changed their name to Led Zeppelin, recalling the phraseology “to go down like a lead balloon”, which means to fail, with a bang. But the group’s ironic mood prevented them from avoiding success. The band classified their music as a heavy blues with rock-and-roll elements. The fans always wanted from the band a heavy and assertive sound, but the musicians did not go around with anyone, and they recorded many semi-acoustic compositions. For some time the group was harassed – Planta died a son, and John Bonham died of an alcohol overdose. After the death of Bonham, the group declared its disintegration, because they always considered themselves as one. Now the participants are engaged in a solo career.

The band was founded in the 1990s, in Los Angeles, the original direction was grunge, later became one of the most progressive groups of our time. They were awarded “Grammy” three times, they for a long time took the position of leaders on the world stage. Due to technically complex and long works, together with texts-messages about continuous personal development, the group has the glory of the leading collective and one of the pioneers of the genre of progressive groups. The composition of the group Adam Jones, Paul D’Amour, Maynard James Keenan and Danny Carey. The lyrics of the group are aggressive politicized texts, with a touch of mysticism, this is due to the fact that members of the group are trying to expose society’s ulcers and inform about the insolvency of the system. At the same time, one of the members of the collective was in the Masonic lodge, while the other was engaged in yoga and hypnosis.
8. Dream Theater

The history of one of the most interesting groups of our time, dates back to the distant 1985, when friends John Mayang and John Petrucci decided, with the support of drummer Mike Portnoy, to assemble their own team. As a vocalist, Chris Collins was taken, and for the keyboards, Kevin Moore was taken. The newly made line-up, dropped out of school at Berkeley College to start his musical career. Their first compositions were similar to the Rush group, which did not stop them, because they always wanted to complete the originality of the composition. To date, a lot of powerful albums have been released, each member of the team masterfully owns the instrument, and their concerts are compared with a march to the opera on the complexity of the performance of parties.
9. The Stooges

The band was founded by the world famous Iggy Pop, who became vocal, the bass was entrusted to Dave Alexander, and the brothers Ashton – Ron and Scott got a guitar and drums. The first performance took place in 1967, in Halloon, at the University of Michigan. The original name is Psychedelic Stooges. The first album was produced by John Cale from Velvet Underground. The group after that almost fell apart – the collective was heavily hooked on drugs. But, despite long proceedings, protracted problems with drug addiction in Iggy Pop, after all the group became cult and in 2010 it was brought to the Hall of Fame rock’n’roll. June 22, 2016, the group ceased to exist, because in the previous ten years “to the next world” almost all members of the group were sent. The last album was released in 2013, entitled “Ready to die”.
10. Animals as leaders
Progressive Rock, Fusion Rock
Animals as leaders – a progressive musical group from the United States, was founded in support of guitarist Tosin Abasi – guitar virtuoso. The novel by Daniel Quinn “Ishmael”, written on the topic of anthropocentrism (the view that man is the center of the universe), inspired the group precisely for this name. Broken reefs, non-standard sizes and a lot of strategic decisions in terms of sound make the group innovators and pioneers in their genre, who, despite everything, do not stop and continue to develop.
