  • A liver function test is a blood test that tests the levels of liver protein and enzymes and identifies the possible presence of any disease. They can prescribe ALT (alanine transaminase), AST (aspartate transaminase), ALP (alkaline phosphatase) and GGT (gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) tests.
  • A bilirubin test checks for the presence of this orange-yellow fluid that may leak from your liver if it is damaged.
